Call for 2019 Events

Since 2012, the NWT Wellness Society has been a well-known non-profit society, holding events to connect residents with wellness services in our communities and offer health and wellness individuals or groups the opportunity to share their knowledge with our communities. These events are a way for the society to carry out its mission statement.

Mission Statement
To enhance personal wellness – and ultimately the overall health of our communities – by providing educational and networking opportunities for residents and practitioners of the NWT.

Call for Applicants
This is a call for health and wellness individuals or groups who are interested in holding a session as part of the NWT Wellness Society 2019 Events. These sessions might include giving a presentation, conducting a workshop or field trip, or collaborating with other individuals to hold a panel discussion. We encourage applicants to collaborate with others in the community to create a unique learning opportunity for residents.

The NWT Wellness Society will provide the following for each session:

  • A venue (if applicable)
  • Advertising and promotion to a target audience of interested participants (posters, Facebook, website, PSAs, local media insertions, etc.)
  • Registration of participants (onsite or pre-registration services)
  • Volunteers (as needed)
  • Healthy snacks and beverages
  • Equipment and supplies as needed
  • An honourarium for your time (to be negotiated)

To apply to be a part of the NWT Wellness Society 2019 Events, complete this application form and submit it by February 28, 2019, to nwtwellnesssociety@gmail.com.

We thank all who apply, but only a limited number of applicants will be selected to participate in 2019. Preference will be given to northern applicants, however applicants outside the Northwest Territories are encouraged to apply.
