2019 Wellness Events

We have two exciting events happening in September!

Monday, September 9 – Understand FASD in our Community
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Scotia Centre, Lower Level Boardroom

In partnership with the Foster Family Coalition of the NWT, this strength-based information session will share stories of how to support those living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. This event is being held on FASD Awareness Day. It is FREE to the public to attend!

Sunday, September 22 – Falling Through the Cracks
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Mildred Hall School
In partnership with Northern Conversations, this is a northern conversation on continuity of care, patient advocacy and access to personal healthcare information. There is no charge to attend this event or the Wellness Resource Fair happening from 11:00 am to 1:00pm, directly before the afternoon session.

Please check our Events page for more information on these events!

Call for 2019 Wellness Resource Fair Exhibitors

This annual event is one-of-a-kind in our community. This year, it will be held at Mildred Hall School Foyer, Sunday, September 22, from 11:00am – 1:00pm. It will be held directly before our afternoon event (in the gymnasium), Falling Through the Cracks. More information about this event will be announced shortly.

This is the ideal opportunity for northern health and wellness practitioners (body, mind and spirit) to market their products and services directly to Yellowknifers who are looking for locally available resources. As the fair is taking place over lunch, we would love to have local nutritionists and healthy food preparation practitioners exhibiting and selling healthy food options!

If you are a health and wellness practitioner interested in this opportunity, please download the Wellness Resource Fair Form 2019, fill it out on your computer and return it to nwtwellnesssociety@gmail.com.

We have approximately 15 tables available for the 2019 Wellness Resource Fair.

Each exhibitor will be provided a 6′ table and 2 chairs. Booth spaces are 8′ wide, although we do have a few more with a bit more space, and some with power. All booth spaces are $30 and will be sold on a first paid, first booked basis.
